Gonorrhoea (PCR on Urine)
This urine test is designed for people who suspect they may have a Gonorrhoea infection. This PCR test detects the presence of the DNA of the Gonorrhoea bacteria that cause the infection in your genitals.
This test will provide accurate and reliable results for detecting a Gonorrhoea infection 14 days after the initial exposure, even if you do not currently show any symptoms. Swabs and blood samples are not needed for this test.
Once you arrive at your chosen Better2Know clinic for your appointment, you will need to provide your urine sample. If needed, a trained medical professional will be there to assist you. Please do not urinate for at least two hours prior to your appointment.
Your sample will be sent to our certified laboratory for testing, and we will upload your test results to your secure online Patient Area when they are ready. We will also inform you that your results are ready via your choice of phone call, email, or text message. Please note that the results will be available approximately 2 days after the laboratory receives your sample.
If you test positive for Gonorrhoea, your Better2Know doctor can help you access medication to treat the infection.
