What is an Early Platinum Screen?

Better2Know’s Early Platinum Screen is our most comprehensive and effective screening package. It delivers accurate results just 2 weeks after you had a risky sexual experience or any other incident. It includes tests that detect 11 different STIs that can lead to long-term negative health outcomes. The Early Platinum Screen is designed to give you fast and reliable test results, helping you to protect your health and the health of your partners.

What tests are included in the Early Platinum Screen?

  • HIV
  • Hepatitis B
  • Hepatitis C
  • Syphilis
  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhoea
  • Mycoplasma
  • Ureaplasma
  • Trichomonas
  • Herpes Simplex Type 1 and 2

Why consider an Early Platinum Screen?

If you are concerned about a recent sexual encounter and want to get a clear view of your sexual health, the Early Platinum Screen is the right choice for you and will give you all the results you need. While some Better2Know STI screens require four weeks to pass after an incident of concern, the Early Platinum Screen will be effective and reliable only 2 weeks after the incident in question. This Early Platinum Screen uses PCR technology to ensure the most accurate testing results that you can rely on for your health.

How does this screen work?

The Early Platinum Screen requires a blood and urine sample. When you arrive at your Better2Know clinic for your appointment, a trained clinician will take a blood sample from your arm and you will be given a container to provide a urine sample in private. No uncomfortable swabs are required, and there is no need to fast or do anything else before you to take this screen.

How will I receive my Early Platinum Screen results?

After your sample has been analyzed by our fully accredited laboratory, you can access your results online by logging into your secure Patient Area on our website. You can also ask to be notified of your results by SMS or email.

What should I do with my results?

If you test positive for any of the infections listed above, Better2Know will help you access the care and treatment you need. We can arrange a consultation with a Better2Know doctor who can discuss your diagnosis and provide medication and treatment.

If you test positive for certain infections like HIV or Hepatitis B, we will refer you to a specialist who can help you with ongoing treatment.

If you wish, you can also take your results to your own doctor for advice.
