What samples do I need to provide for my STI test?

Most tests or screens offered by Better2Know only require a blood or urine sample. Some tests may require a swab sample, which is only used in certain circumstances.

The samples you need to provide depend on what you are getting tested for. If you are uncomfortable providing a particular sample, you can filter the search results by sample type during your online booking process.

Call our 24/7 Bengaluru helpline for more information about testing.

How do I know if I have an STI?

Getting tested is the only way to know if you have an STI.

Many people think symptoms are a reliable indication of an infection. However, most STIs do not produce any symptoms. You can carry an infection for weeks or months without knowing you have it. Common infections like Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, and Herpes frequently present with no symptoms at all, especially in the early stages.

To secure an STI test, begin your online booking by choosing a clinic near you on the map above.

What happens after my appointment?

Once you have visited your chosen clinic and provided your test samples, they will be sent to our accredited laboratory for analysis.

Upon receipt of your samples, your results should take no more than a few working days to process. These results will appear in your secure online Patient Area, an encrypted online space accessible only to you. You can also be notified of your results via SMS or email if you choose.

If you have any questions, call the number listed at the top of this page to speak to our 24/7 Patient Services team.

Can I talk to a doctor about my results?

All our patients can take their STI test results to their own doctor if they want further input.

If you test positive for an STI, we will connect you with a doctor for an in-depth consultation. They will help you access the treatment and medication needed to treat or manage your infection.
