There are two types of Herpes. Oral Herpes (HSV 1) causes cold sores around the mouth, whereas Genital Herpes (HSV 2) causes sores around the genital area.

When should I get an STI test?
If you are sexually active in Dhaka, getting tested regularly will help you maintain your sexual health and the sexual health of your partners.
You should get tested if:
You want to take care of your sexual health
You are sexually active with more than one partner
You have had unprotected vaginal, anal, or oral sex with a new partner
You have begun a sexual relationship with a new partner
You have sexual relationships with multiple partners
You have symptoms of an STI
A previous sexual partner tells you that they have an STI
Call the number above to speak to our Sexual Health Advisors for more information about when you should get tested.
If I get tested, do I need to tell my sexual partners?
If you test positive for an STI, you should cease all sexual activity and tell your current and recent sexual partners about your status. Doing so will help stop the spread of the infection.
However, for some people, telling sexual partners about an STI can be problematic. To help people during this difficult period, we offer our Partner Notification system that allows patients to send their sexual partners anonymous notifications about their test results.
Call our Dhaka Patient Services team to get advice or guidance during this process.
