Hepatitis B is usually transmitted through sexual activity and infected blood. The infection can seriously damage your liver if left untreated.
While Hepatitis B is not curable, the condition can be managed with the right care.
If you are concerned about Hepatitis B, you can get a blood test at Better2Know's Kochi sexual health clinic. You can also get tested for Hepatitis B as part of a larger screen that will test for other infections.

What kind of samples will I need to provide?
When you get tested with Better2Know, you will most likely need to provide a blood sample, a urine sample, or both. Some tests may require a swab sample.
However, we understand that some people are not comfortable providing intimate swabs. That is why most of our tests and screens only require a blood or urine sample. Swabs only need to be used in certain circumstances when testing for specific infections.
A trained medical professional will collect your blood sample during your appointment. If a urine sample or swab is required, you will be given instructions on collecting it for your chosen tests.
Call our 24/7 Kochi helpline for more information about the testing process.
Gonorrhoea testing in Kochi
Gonorrhoea, caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae bacteria, is one of India's most common STIs, accounting for around 10% of new STI cases. Many Gonorrhoea strains have developed antibiotic resistance, making them more difficult to treat.
Most people with Gonorrhoea experience no symptoms, whether male or female. When present, symptoms may include burning urination, painful bowel movements, sore throat, pink eye, vaginal discharge/bleeding in women, and unusual penile discharge/painful testicles in men.
If you are concerned about Gonorrhoea, call our Kochi Patient Services team about our Peace of Mind Screen, which tests for Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia, and Syphilis.
