STIs can lead to severe health problems for you and your future partners if they are left untreated.  If you have sex with new partners it is important to get tested every 3 to 6 months. Below is a list of STIs we test for at our Springs clinics:

  • Chlamydia

  • Gonorrhoea

  • Syphilis

  • Herpes

  • HIV

  • HPV/ Genital Warts

  • Hepatitis A

  • Hepatitis B

  • Hepatitis C

  • Trichomonas

  • Mycoplasma

  • Ureaplasma

The earlier STIs and intimate infections are found by testing at our Springs clinics, the sooner you can start treatment and prevent health and fertility complications.

If you are concerned about more than one STI, our comprehensive STI screens will test for several STIs at once.  If you are not sure what to test for, please choose our Full Screen.

What is an STI?

An STI, or sexually transmitted infection, is an infection that is primarily passed through sexual contact. These infections are a serious public health issue as many do not present with symptoms. That is why it is especially important to get tested regularly if you are sexually active and not in a committed monogamous relationship.

If you are concerned about STIs, click the “Book Now” button at the top of this page or call our 24/7 helpline to speak to one of our Sexual Health Advisors.

Gonorrhoea tests in Springs

Gonorrhoea is one of the most common STIs in Springs.  It can cause considerable damage to your health and fertility if it is not detected and treated quickly.  Gonorrhoea can be passed on by vaginal, oral and/ or anal sex.

The Gonorrhoea test at our Better2Know sexual health clinic in Springs is a simple, urine test used to detect the presence of the infection in your genitals, or a self-collected swab of your mouth/ throat or anus.

Syphilis testing in Springs

Syphilis infections are increasing in Springs as many men and women are not getting tested and passing the infection on to a new partner.  It is important to diagnose and treat syphilis as early as possible as it can cause serious long term health problems if left untreated.

Better2Know’s Springs sexual health clinic can get you tested for Syphilis today.  All you need to do is book your appointment online. A small blood sample will be collected, and we will get you your results quickly and securely.  Select your sexual health clinic from the map above to book.

What is the difference between an STI test and a screen?

An STI test is designed to confirm or rule out the presence of a specific infection. Individual tests are perfect for anyone who knows the single infection that they wish to test for.

An STI screen, designed by our medical team, looks for several infections at once. Screens are often used to get a broader picture of your sexual health when you have had a risky sexual encounter and want to protect your health.  There is no way to know which STIs you may have caught without being tested.

If you would like to talk with someone about whether a test or screen would be right for you, speak to Better2Know’s Sexual Health Advisors in Springs today.
