What kind of samples will I need to provide?
Most STI tests and screens offered by Better2Know in Worcester require either a blood sample, a urine sample, or a swab sample. Some screens will require a combination of these.
However, we understand that some people are not comfortable providing intimate swabs. That is why most of our tests and screens only require a blood or urine sample (or both). Swabs only need to be used in certain circumstances when testing for specific infections and are usually self collected.
A trained medical professional will collect blood samples during your appointment. If a urine sample or swab is required, you will be given instructions on how to collect it for your chosen tests.
Call our 24/7 Worcester helpline for more information about the testing process.

What STIs should I get tested for?
If you are unsure what infections to get tested for, we recommend choosing one of Better2Know’s STI screens. They are all available at our Worcester sexual health clinic. STI screens are used as a precautionary measure when you do not know what infection needs to be detected.
Better2Know’s STI screens are designed by medical professionals to test for a wide range of infections. Here are our most popular:
Platinum Screen: This screen is the most comprehensive full panel STD test in Georgia, designed by medical professionals to test for 11 major STIs: HIV, Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Syphilis, Herpes, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma, Gardnerella, and Trichomonas.
Comfort Screen: This screen is designed for anyone who may be experiencing pain, itching, or unusual discharge from their genitals. It uses a single urine sample to test for Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Herpes, Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma, Gardnerella, and Trichomonas.
Peace of Mind Screen: Our Peace of Mind Screen is for anyone who wants to test for Georgia’s most common STDs as early as 14 days after an incident of concern: Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, and Syphilis.
You can also add tests for other infections onto any screen at a discounted price. Book your Worcester test online now by clicking on the clinic nearest you.
Gonorrhoea testing in Worcester
Gonorrhoea is a bacterial infection and a common STI in Worcester. It can infect your genitals, mouth and anus depending on the type of sex you have had. It is important to test all the areas separately.
If you test positive your Better2Know doctor will prescribe the right medication for you. Gonorrhoea is becoming increasingly resistant to antibiotics. This means that it is important to check that the medicine has worked. You should take another Gonorrhoea test two weeks after you have finished your medication to make sure you have cleared the infection.
Better2Know can help you to get tested for Gonorrhoea in Worcester with a urine test (genital infection), mouth swab (if you have given oral sex) and anal swab (if you have received anal sex). Please book your test online today.
Syphilis testing in Worcester
Once thought to be fairly rare in modern times, Syphilis infections are on the rise around the world and in Worcester. Regular testing for Syphilis in sexually active people will help reduce the spread.
Syphilis can cause serious harm to your health if it is not caught early enough. Identifying the infection can be difficult because Syphilis can often be mistaken for other, less serious infections, meaning most people will not seek medical attention when they have symptoms.
Get your Syphilis test today by scheduling an appointment at one of Better2Know’s Worcester sexual health clinics. Call the number listed at the top of this page or begin your booking by choosing a clinic near you on the map provided.
