Who is the Herpes by Swab test for?
This swab test is designed for men and women who have a blister or lesion that might be herpes. These blisters most commonly occur in the corner of your mouth or in the genital area.
How does it work>
You will be met by a qualified medical professional at the clinic who will explain how to collect your swab sample, you will be able to do this in private should you wish. As this is a swab sample, it is only possible to use this test if you have a blister or lesion. Testing for the DNA of the Herpes virus, this test will differentiate between the Herpes Simplex 1 and 2 viruses.
Once collected, your sample will be sent to our laboratory for fast and accurate analysis. Your results will be reported to your secure online patient area within a few days of arriving at the laboratory. A follow up consultation with a Better2Know doctor will be offered should you need it.

Should you test positive for Herpes Simplex I or II, your Better2Know doctor can help. While there is no cure for Herpes, the symptoms can be managed with medication. Most people find that the severity of the outbreak decreases over time.
