What is the Better2Know Iron Status Test

An iron profile test is a blood test that measures the levels of Iron, Ferritin and Transferrin Saturation (TS) in your blood. This test can help diagnose anaemia, iron overload, and liver disease. Too much Iron or too little Iron are both bad for your health so monitoring your Iron levels is always a great idea.

What does this test measure?

  • Iron is the amount of dissolved Iron in your blood
  • Ferritin is the amount of Iron that is stored in your body
  • Total iron-binding capacity (TIBC) is a measure of how well your body transports iron
  • Transferrin saturation is the ratio of iron to Total Iron Binding Capacity

Why should you get this Iron Status Test?
